J. M. Silverleaf is an author with a learning disability who is passionate about people with disabilities of all ranges and ages learning to read—and loving it. She taught special education with an emphasis on autism and down syndrome, with students ranging in age from pre-k to adult.
After retiring from teaching, J. M. went back to school and earned a Master's degree in acupuncture.
She currently lives in Virginia, USA, with her best friend and partner, LK and their three fur babies: two rescued Chihuahuas, Rose and Lily, and a very formal cat who wears a permanent tuxedo.
